The ship landing project in Qingdao Port foggy weather that our company participated in is being closely promoted

The smog in the ancient capital of Xi'an is dissipating, and the blue sky is getting closer and closer, but the Qingdao port terminal located on the seaside is facing the foggy weather in March and April every year, because once the cargo ship arrives at the port and cannot dock in time, the economic losses and safety risks caused by it are unimaginable.

In order to solve this problem, starting from January 17, 2019, the engineers of Xi'an Taihao Infrared Technology Co., Ltd. arrived at the port four times for field investigation, and after full discussion and verification of the actual situation of the customer, recommended the scheme of using short-wave infrared for fog-permeable imaging monitoring to the customer to solve the problems encountered by the customer.

Since the project was launched, our company attaches great importance to the development of TEC refrigerated shortwave infrared camera in order to better cooperate with customers to solve problems. In the past two months, the camera has worked stably and reliably in the environment of low temperature and high humidity on the seaside, and the imaging effect has been recognized by customers.

At present, the relevant preparations have been completed, and the equipment is waiting to be tested again in foggy weather, and it is believed that it will allow ships to enter and exit the port safely.

What is Shortwave Infrared (SWIR)?

Shortwave infrared refers to the spectral range of 0.9 m ~ 3.0 m light, and the human eye can see the spectral range of 0.38 m ~ 0.78 m , so the human eye can not identify these spectra , but the SWIR camera can indeed capture the light reflected by the object in this spectrum and clearly image, thus making up for the regret of the human eye imaging in this spectrum.

Features of short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging techniques

At present, in the field of short-wave infrared imaging in the world, the detector adopts InGaAs materials with relatively mature technology (spectral response range 0.9 m~1.7 m), and the spectral response curve is shown in the figure below.

The main technical features of SWIR are:

High recognition: short-wave infrared imaging is based on target reflected light imaging, which is similar to the visible light image features, high imaging contrast, clear expression of target details, and has the incomparable advantages of medium-wave and long-wave infrared thermal imaging;

All-weather adaptation: short-wave infrared has a longer wavelength than visible light, imaging is less affected by atmospheric scattering, strong ability to penetrate fog, mist and smoke, and has a long effective detection distance, and its adaptability to climate conditions and other environments is obviously better than that of visible light;

Low-light night vision: Under the night vision conditions of atmospheric glow, atmospheric irradiation is mainly distributed in the short-wave infrared spectral range of 1.0 m ~ 1.8 m, which makes short-wave infrared night vision imaging have an innate advantage over visible light night vision imaging.
