Commercial vehicles, especially large buses and trucks, have many blind spots around the body, and accidents involving pedestrians and non-motor vehicles in the blind area are often caused when the vehicle starts or parks, especially such accidents as buses and urban logistics vehicles operating in crowded places, and the blind zone area around the body of large commercial vehicles can reach 70m². Affected by the vehicle body structure, A-pillar and other factors, the wide-angle rearview mirror cannot completely cover the blind zone around the body, and because the rearview mirror is distributed around the cab, the driver cannot observe all the rearview mirrors at the same time, and it is easy to ignore the emergency. Therefore, the installation of panoramic surround view system has become an effective way to solve this problem, and some cities in China have mandated the installation of urban logistics vehicles, buses and other systems.

Special purpose vehicles face more pain points, including poor visibility at night driving, limited field of vision, poor mission environment in bad weather, and difficulty in emergency treatment of strong light and sudden light changes.

Industry application scenarios and solutions

At present, the installation of panoramic surround view system on passenger cars is more common, but large operating vehicles have large volume and complex body structure, so the quality of panoramic surround view system installed in large commercial vehicles is uneven, mainly manifested in:

(1) Some systems have insufficient surround view, and some can only look around the body for less than 1m distance, and the safety early warning effect is minimal.

(2) Poor image quality, especially passenger car systems only need 4 cameras, the technology is relatively simple, while large commercial vehicles need at least 8 or more, technical requirements are high, some product images are misaligned, distortion is serious.

For the above reasons, it is urgent and necessary to install panoramic surround view systems and infrared imaging assistance systems in commercial vehicles and special purpose vehicles.
